Researching Online (Digital Materials)

The Vietnam Archive has been digitizing materials since 2001, and currently has almost 900,000 items (7 million pages) available for online research. Types of materials digitized include documents and manuscripts, photographs and slides, film, audio recordings, oral histories, maps, artifacts, and more. New items are added daily.

The Virtual Vietnam Archive is the online research database for our digitized materials. Note that some items in the Virtual Archive will not be available to users outside of our building due to copyright..

We have a separate Maps Search form for our digitized Maps Collection. While maps are included in the Virtual Archive, this specialized form gives researchers map-specific search options, such as searching by latitude and longitude, by grid zone coordinates, or by map sheet number.

Research database guides are available to assist researchers in using the Virtual Vietnam Archive and the online Maps Collection.
